We have create our audioguide, using information we have collected from our class project "Where does fish we ate come from".

First we went in pairs or alone to see fish and fish labels in nearby fish markets. From information found we wrote in a chart the name of the fish and the location where they come from, and upload all data in Google Drive application.

In class we collected all information, and each person, or grup was in charge to create an Eduloc information point, or write the description of the point, or upload images of different species in the sea point where they come from. 

These are the FAO ocean zones, origin of the fish that we found on Poble Nou fish markets, in order of importance (from more to less):

• FAO zone nº 37, Mediterranean Sea= 37,77%
• FAO zone nº 27, Atlantic Ocean North-East= 30,94%
• FAO zone nº 34, Atlantic Ocean Middle-East= 15,32%
• FAO zone nº 51, West Indian Ocean= 2,91%
• FAO zone nº 41, Atlantic South-West= 2,16%
• FAO zone nº 21, Atlantic North-West= 1,74%
• FAO zone nº 47, Atlantic South-East= 1,36%
• FAO zone nº 48, Atlantic Antarctic= 1,07%
• FAO zone nº 31, Atlantic Middle-West= 0,53%
• FAO zone nº 61, Pacific North-West= 0,33%

Hello!!!

On behalf of the S'Agulla Team and myself, we would like to congratulate you for all the hard work. WELL DONE!!!

You have done lovely presentations to introduce yourselves and showed us a little about the bit of ocean that you enjoy!

Now we know that the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is not even. Compared to last January average SST it is about 0.5-2ºC colder, but looking at the average of the past 13 years is actually about 1ºC warmer! And you don’t agree with the year of smallest and largest SST, year 2003 was both things at different parts of the Mediterranean Sea!

Taking the measure of the Secchi disk didn't go well, but it is an important measure to know indirectly how much plankton there is in the water. Remember that plankton is the base of the marine food chain!

The beaches you have been surveying have hardly any tides, but the Mediterranean Sea is not a lake, otherwise the SST would be the same all over.

You have surveyed natural and artificial beaches and seen that in spite having similar grain size the sand accumulates differently. In turn, it also reacts differently to the action of the sea and wind and that’s why you have different beach profiles!

And it has been fantastic to know your ‘marine menu’, so you love red shrimps but you really catch more sardines! The kinds of fish you eat are mostly small species except in Sardinia you’ve included swordfish. And at the Ebro delta you certainly have a different diet!

We apologize for the delay but finally we have included 32 species in our infographic. There is much activity in the Port of Palamós and a wide variety of species so it vas very difficult to chose only 10. Some of them were equally representative.

We worked together all second ESO classes to do this infographic.

We hope you like it and you can learn more about our village.

Hello!

I can't believe the exciting menus you are showing me in your infographics! 

And I can see that the species that you make more profit are not the same ones that you catch more of, interesting... as a shark I also think that not all the creatures in the sea are as tasty, ha,ha!

Now I have a question for you. You are all studying the Mediterranean sea, but you don't show the same species. Looking at the infographics of the other participating schools, which specie has surprised you more to find?

The sand

To do the exercise we went to the «Cap roig « beach in l'Ampolla, there we took 2 L of sand to do experiment.

We throwed the sand a funel until we have a pila. The funnel was 40 cm of the table.The pile was 7 cm tall and its diameter was 22 cm. The table was white.
